Sales Representative

SolarG is adding to our team of dynamic sales agents to promote and sell renewable energy solutions to residential, agricultural and corporate clients.  This is a commissioned sales position.

Responsibilities:

• Prospecting and other marketing to develop develop leads and contacts

• Meet with potential clients to explain options, assess viability, develop proposals, and complete sales

• Build and maintain solid relationships with clients

• Prepare written proposals for clients.

• Conduct site viability and sizing assessments for potential projects

• Provide input for new marketing materials

• Promote renewable energy and develop sales leads for SolarG at trade shows and other appropriate venues

Skill Requirements:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills (including a clear and engaging style of communication in person, and via telephone and email)

• Proven track record in developing and closing new sales opportunities

• Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office programs

• Ability to rapidly integrate and apply new information regarding renewable energy systems

• Previous background and/or experience with solar or other renewable energy systems considered an asset

Other Requirements:

• References from previous sales experience

• In keeping with the SolarG mission of mitigating climate change (including reducing greenhouse-gas emissions), preference may be given to candidates who drive a low-emission vehicle.

Terms of Employment:

• Commissioned position.  Candidates provides own vehicle, computer, phone and other tools and covers own expenses, compensated by a generous commission on sales.

• SolarG provides marketing materials, required templates, full training, and support.

Solar Installer/Designer

SolarG requires an experienced, reliable solar installer / analyst / designer.   Candidate must be comfortable working on all types of rooftops (with appropriate safety equipment) in variable weather conditions. This position requires outdoor work, weather permitting.  In addition, assessment, shading and solar production analysis, system design, and layout work is required. SolarG operates and installs year-round.

Responsibilities:

· Install and/or lead installation of solar PV systems on rooftops, as well as ground-mounted tracker systems.

· Conduct site assessments at potential locations for installations.

· Shading and solar production analysis, system design, and layout of solar PV systems.

· Pricing and proposal preparation for renewable energy systems.


Skill Requirements:

· Formal renewable energy education, college or university.

· Experience installing solar PV and solar hot water systems and/or construction, roofing, framing and plumbing.

• Experience in renewable energy production analysis and system design.

· Excellent computer skills, including solar analysis tools, Google Sketch-up, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office programs

· Fast and efficient , professional attitude, and excellent work ethic.

· Must work well in a team atmosphere and be able to take direction, work independently and lead when necessary.

· Able to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders and work comfortably in high places

· Fall-arrest training.

· Good oral and written communication skills

· Valid Driver’s License

Preference Will be Given to Candidates With:

• 3 or 4 year renewable energy diploma or equivalent

• Experience driving a truck, towing trailers, and other equipment.

• Preference will be given to local candidates or those planning on relocating to the Guelph area, and candidates who drive a fuel-efficient vehicle.

Terms of Employment:

• Permanent, Full-Time, Day (Weather permitting).  May require flexible hours to work around the weather, including working some long days and/or Saturdays.

Location:

• Guelph, ON  (Job requires regular travel in and around Guelph Area and/or other installation locations in Ontario)
