SolarG is a social purpose enterprise focusing on greenhouse gas reductions by developing solutions which both reduce GHG levels and have a net positive benefit to the people of the world. SolarG is based in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, just west of Toronto.

Doug Prest
President and C.E.O.
SolarG was founded in 2006 and is directed by Douglas Prest, a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer with 28 years of experience. Doug also has an MBA and a degree in Biology, which helps him to appreciate the complexities, and fragility, of the environment. In line with Solar G’s social objectives, Doug has served on the board of the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA), which has been instrumental in the implementation of the Green Energy Act in Ontario and the associated Feed-In Tariff (FIT) program.
A father of five children, Doug is passionate about the climate issue, and feels a strong obligation to help solve the current climate crisis for them, their children, and their grand-children. Doug is also an avid outdoorsman and part-time musician.

Our operations manager, Aaron has a background in building technology with a diploma from Contestoga College in Architechtural Construction Engineering Technology. He has a wealth of experience in residential design and construction, renewable energy design and installation as well as team management.

Donovan Prest
Information Technology
Donovan manages SolarG's IT department, and is often involved in the service of systems, SolarG monitoring systems and all other IT-related areas. Donovan also handles the company website, marketing, advertising, and graphic design.
